Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Decision Log, operated at adrlog.app (“Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Decision Log is a software-as-a-service tool that helps engineering teams create, review, and track Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and Request for Comments (RFCs). We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address and keep your account credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • One person may not maintain more than one free account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Use automated means to scrape or bulk-download data from the Service.
  • Transmit malware, spam, or any other harmful code.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Subscriptions & billing

The Free plan is available at no charge subject to the usage limits described on the our pricing. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

If a payment fails your account will be downgraded to the Free plan after a grace period of 7 days. You will not lose your data during this period.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of all decisions, comments, and attachments you create (“Your Content”). By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. We do not review content proactively but may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.

7. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases and we will delete your data in accordance with our data retention policy.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we are incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
